5 Reasons to Consider Converting a Photo to Black and White
Converting an image to black and white is one of the most fundamental yet powerful editing techniques, but there are no hard and fast rules that dictate when you should do so. If you struggle with knowing when to edit a photo in black and white, check out this excellent video tutorial that will show you five things to consider when deciding whether or not to do so. nullComing to you from our good friend, Pye Jirsa, with Adorama TV, this helpful video tutorial discusses five things to consider when deciding whether to convert a photo to black and white, such as the light quality and the shapes and patterns in the frame. Some of the best advice I have received for tackling this conundrum is to consider converting a photo to black and white for showing emotion and to keep it in color for conveying information. In tandem with Jirsa’s five points, you should be able to establish a good framework for dealing with the question. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Jirsa.
